January Term Yiddish Intensive


January 4-22, 2010

Students from the Five Colleges can enroll in the January Term Yiddish Intensive, three weeks of immersion in Yiddish language and culture at the National Yiddish Book Center.

The curriculum includes:

  • Elementary Yiddish, taught by Ellen Kellman of Brandeis University;
  • A Yiddish Culture Colloquium taught by Justin Cammy of Smith College, Rachel Rubinstein of Hampshire College, and Hankus Netsky of the New England Conservatory of Music; and
  • Mini-internships with Book Center Founder and President Aaron Lansky and Bibliographer Catherine Madsen.
