Online Outreach Coordinator
The National Yiddish Book Center is looking for an Online Outreach Coordinator, responsible for organizing and motivating online communities through our website at yiddishbookcenter.org and through other social networking sites.
Responsibilities include:
- Writing compelling email and web content;
- Contributing creative ideas to the web development team and regularly identifying ways to improve our work;
- Developing and implementing online outreach, marketing and word-of-mouth strategies;
- Developing our presence on social networking sites, such as Twitter and Facebook.
- Keeping web development team up-to-date on related blogs and news;
- Conducting basic research of and outreach to online supporters and communities for various projects;
- Building active networks from within the Book Center’s constituent communities (i.e. intern alumni, members, cultural fellows, etc.);
- Working with the Center’s faculty, fellows and staff to provide a steady stream of lively website content;
- Analyzing online metrics and creatinge plans for new email testing programs.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
- Functional understanding of online technology: conducting online research, and knowing how/where to find interesting new ideas and programs on the web.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and perform problem analysis and resolution at strategic and functional levels.
- Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and unstructured environment.
- Must demonstrate strong writing and editing skills.
- B.A. in Jewish Studies or general knowledge of Yiddish or Jewish culture.

Yiddish Language Instructor
National Yiddish Book Center seeks energetic and effective Yiddish Language Instructor with experience and interest in a variety of teaching formats, for full time, year round position in fast-growing educational program. Classes include semester-long college credit courses, online instruction, short-term intensives, and non-credit community programs. The Yiddish Instructor will also contribute to the Book Center’s print and web publications, act as a resource for translation and research projects at the Book Center, and participate in developing new initiatives for expanding Yiddish education.

Volunteer Docent Educator
Open to the public six days weekly, the Book Center is a destination for visitors from around the world. We need volunteers to greet visitors, lead tours, and make brief presentations. Volunteers should be comfortable with groups and public speaking, able to make a year-long commitment, and interested in learning more about Yiddish culture. We provide enjoyable training sessions.
