Yosl Bergner, z”l, painter, remembers the trip his father, Yiddish writer Melech Ravitch, took to northwestern Australia on a scouting mission for the Freeland League for Jewish Territorial Colonisation, which was seeking a place to build a Jewish state (parallel to but separate from the Zionists).
