John (Yankl) Zeleznikow, whose parents owned the famed Cafe Scheherezade Jewish restaurant in Melbourne, describes what he sees as the future of the Yiddish language. While he, for the most part, thinks Yiddish is on its way to be a cultural museum piece, he advises that funding Yiddish creativity and new literature will have an important impact in keeping Yiddish a living language.
