Esther Gottesman, granddaughter of Yiddish poet Beyle Schaechter-Gottesman and daughter of Itzik Gottesman, tells about her recent reaction to hearing her grandmother's anthemic song at a concert. She explains how, although the songs filled her childhood, since her grandmother's death they have gained new meaning and effect.
