Open the Gate!

In this short poem by Kadia Molodowsky (1894-1975), a “golden chain” (גאָלדענע קײט) of successive generations parades through the gate (טױער) of the poem’s title. Once you've read the text, answer the multiple-choice questions that follow.

קאַדיע מאָלאָדאָװסקי

עפֿנט דעם טויער, עפֿנט אים ברײט
ס׳װעט דאָ דורכגײן אַ גאָלדענע קײט: 
דער טאַטע, די מאַמע,  
דער ברודער, די שװעסטער,  
חתן-כּלה אין מיטן
