White Goat Press Manuscript Submissions

White Goat Press publishes new English translations of Yiddish literature. We publish works by both well-known and previously neglected Yiddish writers, and we consider all genres.

White Goat Press accepts unsolicited manuscripts on a rolling basis. We review submissions twice per year: in the fall and in the spring.  Shortly after submitting your materials through the webform below, you can expect to receive a confirmation email that your completed submission has been received, along with information about next steps and the timeline for the review process. For questions, contact Jeff Hayes, manager of publishing and book programs.

Our online form allows you to save a draft of your application. Click the “save draft” button at the bottom of the page and copy and save the secure link that appears in the green box at the top of the screen.

Tell us about this work, its significance, and why and for whom it is important to make an English translation available. Let us know whether you are submitting a complete book manuscript or a 20–30 page sample. If a sample, tell us how much of the book you have already translated and how long you think it would take you to translate the rest.
We allow simultaneous submissions, but we ask that you let us know immediately if your submission is accepted by another publisher.
Please upload your manuscript or sample. Name the file: '[Translator first and last name] - [manuscript title] submission'.
