MULTIMEDIA PRESENTATION | This Used to Be a Synagogue, with Amy Shreeve
Featuring: Amy Shreeve
A Twitter account called ‘This Used to Be a Synagogue’ (@OldShulSpots) compares the locations of old synagogues with the pictures of the churches, luxury apartments, and salons that sit there today. Its creator, Amy Shreeve, dives into the bot's politics and creation, touching on Jewish culture in the Lower East Side around the turn of the century.
Amy Shreeve is a junior at the University of Texas at Austin studying Rhetoric and History. Additionally, she is receiving certificates in Computer Science and Museum Studies. She is a Yiddishist with interests in genealogy, technical writing, and commemorative geography. Amy owns every National Geographic published between 2000-2013 and many non-consecutive issues since.
