Educational Programs We offer a year-round schedule of educational programs where students of all ages can learn Yiddish and explore modern Jewish history, literature, and culture. High School Students In the Great Jewish Books Summer Program, high school students read, discuss, argue about, and fall in love with modern Jewish literature. College Students The seven-week Steiner Summer Yiddish Program offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in Yiddish language and culture. Recent Graduates In the Yiddish Book Center Fellowship Program, recent college graduates spend a year as full-time Center staff members. Twentysomethings Tent: Encounters with Jewish Culture offers immersive week-long workshops about the connections between Jewishness and modern culture. Emerging Yiddish Translators The Yiddish Book Center's Translation Fellowship program trains, supports, and encourages a new generation of Yiddish literary translators. Teachers At the Great Jewish Books Teacher Summer Seminar, educators from Jewish day schools study and discover new approaches for teaching modern Jewish literature. Adult Learners We offer weekend, weeklong, and online courses on modern Jewish culture, literature, and history, as well as our popular YiddishSchool language and culture course. Resources for Teachers Resource kits to help educators bring modern Jewish literature and culture into their classrooms Alumni Association Through our Alumni Association, former participants in our educational programs become part of a larger community.
